New Bearings?
I drive a 2007 Rx8 which is pretty much stock with good wheels and tires and I do a lot of Autocross. I am hearing a whirring noise from the back of the car.
The noise increases with the speed of the car and is related to vehicle speed not engine revs. It sounds like it is part of the drive train. I can usually hear it when I am in 5th or 6th travelling 50+ mph it gets louder the faster I go. At any lower speed and higher revs the engine drowns out the noise.
Do you think this is a worn out bearing that needs replacing? If so can I replace the bearing on my drive or is it the press type bearings that I will have to take it into a shop top get done.
