NEED HELP!! Any Ideas ?????
Ok so I have an 04 Auto (bummer I know) with 58000 miles on it. I got a new engine put in under warranty at 55000 and a new transmission put in at 36000, I am having issues with my car setting of the CEL at high rpms. (Common with misfiring) So I got the code read and it said it was misfiring both rotors. My initial thought was to see if Mazda replaced the Ignition system or at least the plugs when I got the new engine put in. They did not and stated that it needed to be done. So what i thought was a simple solution to buy new coils, wires, and spark plugs has turned into a pain! After putting in a new system and reseting the computer both by battery disconnect and pumping the brake pedal i had thought i solved the issue. apparently not... so the next day i decided to triple check the connections and make sure everything was in the right spot, retightened every connection, cleaned the MAF sensor and even cleaned the crank shaft sensor just for the hell of it. I turned on the car and at last the light was off. I drove it around town for about 7 miles slow at first but then opening it up. No problems so i thought it was done. Today the thing went on while driving to college so i pulled into autozone to get it checked and sure enough it was misfiring in the first rotor. For fear of bad fuel I resorted to get a new tank of gas and use the dreaded fuel stabilizer ( I know its not really for rotary engines) to try and trouble shoot. I am running out of ideas on how to solve this problem !!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
