How many clueless dopes does it take to make an RX8Club troubleshooting thread. Coils? Decarbing? WTF .....

The PCM is in limp/safe mode because of the throttle related issue. This car has a Drive By Wire (DBW) electronic throttle. Any problem in the electronic throttle system defaults the PCM into the fail safe/limp mode.

I'm not that familiar with the throttle electronics and don't have the manual in front of me, but the first thing you may want to do is crawl up under the driver foot well and check the wiring connector on the throttle pedal switch. Maybe disconnect and reconnect it, then disconnect the battery for 30 minutes or use and OBD tool to clear the code and see if it comes back. Otherwise there's a checklist of items in the service manual to work through in diagnosing and correcting the problem.
