MS CAI to stock intake-Help

I drive an 07 6MT, my daily driver. I've recently noticed that my MS CAI seems to be sucking up water and affecting my engine performance. I'm looking to remove the MS CAI and replace it with the stock intake (in the hopes of minimizing engine damage). Should I be concerned of any issues in going from the cold air intake to the stock? Any precautions I should take??
Should the computer be reset???

They do make a water sock for those, if you wanna try that option( http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda...t/61-0646.html ). I know that sock says AEM, but it should be the exact same as mazdaspeed.

Really though as long as you are not dunking the filter into puddles of water as you drive you should be fine.

Water in the MS/AEM is common even under light rain and car washes. A quick search would have revealed that. A couple of local members have had the MS intake and all of them had water issues. And mind you this is in south Texas with very little rain. The sock doesn't do **** really as grungepup and tbk both had water issues with the sock.

Just remove the negative terminal on battery when you're doing it, and perform the 20 brake stomp reset in addition.

I have the MS CAI, and I haven't noticed any issues with water (we get more rain than TX!).
However, I was thinking of going to stock, as I never really liked the noise of the MS.

My MS CAI had the sock on it. I blew my first engine at 90000kms, now with the new engine and only 1500kms, I wanted to keep this one a bit longer.Lol
Made the change today, the stock set-up is quiter and feels alot sturdier, powerloss seems minimal. Would a KNN airfilter make any difference??
