I would first try and clean the SSV before thinking its bad. You can remove the Upper Intake Manifold, pour some seafoam down onto the SSV Valve area, manually work the valve and let it sit for an hour or longer. Fixed mine that way.

As for the rattling, I would take it back to wherever you got your cat replaced. Have them take of the muffler and give it a good shake to see if it rattles. They should be obligated to look if you spoke to them about this prior to getting it done.
