Hi guys, I just picked up my brand new RX8 from Mazda and unfortunitly I got this whine/squeal noise problem at low RPM. I am very worried right now. Can anyone tell me will this problem go away after I drive it for sometime or I need to bring the car back to dealer for a check/fix? Please kindly advise. Thanks

 

Hey... I've noticed the same noise in my engine for two weeks now, I hear something like two metals scratching in cyclical motion at low RPM upon engine start. The sound lasts for as long as the engine is running on idle even if it's warm, it disappear once I depress the clutch and in gear... Otherwise, it can be heard if the car is in neutral.

Yeah, apparently... it's the closest to the issue I'm having now

 

I've been getting a "chirp" when I turn on AC sometimes if it rained overnight

 

yiksing...........that ones a belt slip for sure. Some belt dressing will take care of that one.

 

Check the belt tension too.

 

^.....okay, fine.....it could be that as well.

It could also just be too much of a worn out belt in his case.
