Lost my power steering this time

oook so i posted this in a differnt section.. not knowing this was a section.. my bad.
anyways, ive had a lot of problems with my instrument cluster lightes all coming on.. so i took it back and they said they "fixed it"
well, on friday i went , got it washed and filled blah blah, was driving it around .. maybe...5 hours later.. when they lights and speedo and everything else in the IC started to malfunction again.. kinda pissed off i drive it home. i parked it, turned it off..about 30 minutes later i came back, turned it on again, only the CEL was on.. so i starte to drive it, got about 10 feet from my house when all the lights turned on, said my oil pressure was gone everything..i was like.. eff that, im taking it home.. go to do a 3 point turn... I HAD NO POWER STEERING!! none what so ever!! NOT impressed.. i bring it home,. and shut it off.
a couple hours later my dad wanted to see what was wrong so we went to start it... wouldnt start.. wouldnt even turn over.... went and tried the next morning, still wouldnt turn on, or over.. now i may have flooded the engine.. and thats why it wont turn over or anything..but what the hell is up with my power steering going! had toget it towed t othe dealership.. this is the third time in a month the dealership has had my Rx8.. its a 2005 with 15xxx KM on it.... 6speed... NOT impressed...

the power steering is electric, sounds like you are having a major electrical system issue, like a defective harness or something. I would request the dealership to have the field service advisor come in to address the problem.

Has this vehicle ever been in an accident?

TeamRX8 has a good point. This must be harness related. I don't think there have been many clusters replaced and you have more than one. The "digital instrument cluster" (DIC) is a CAN module. The dealer must be doing the PMI correctly or you would have a "U" code set everytime the car is started.
I really would love to see what code they pull from the car.

Please keep us updated.

AH-HA!
so.. i got a call from mazda.. i cant remeber what they said was causing it.. but apperntly they Gm of mazda who was driving it before, installed an automatice car starter.. to override the clutch and what not, and when he sold the car, he ripped the starter out, adn the messed up the Computer... so they have to replace the computer, it was the techs fault at the mazda garage, for not doing it properly, they ordered the part, said it would be ready for me thursday.. so im hoping there is no more problems after this

That was really really stupid.

If I were you I would have them sign a big "X" on a form they take responsibility for your wiring issues. All of the modules in your car are expensive. Your problems may be just starting.

Man..I can not get over how stupid that was.

How can this be covered by Mazda warranty? How many clusters have you had replaced?

This was a dealer issue from the start.

Yup. On the safe side, I would request a comparable RX-8 swap, or a full refund. Not sure if this is considered a lemon in your state..but..like snap-on said, "your problem might be just starting.."

Order wrong part = "Dammit we haven't gotten it done yet. Lets say something so it seems like we have been working"

Of course sometimes the wrong part is actually ordered, or the guys receiving the order sends the wrong item. But that is of course a minority of the times.

In this case I wonder if "ordered the wrong part" stands for how in the world are we going to get Mazda to pay for this. Multiple clusters and a PCM must add up to a huge claim.

Skiptomylue posted that this vehicle has 15XXX miles and has owned it less than a month. I guess we can presume it was pre-owned?
