Loss of power due to mods?

Hey guys,

As of mild power mods I have an Agency Power dual res midpipe bolted onto a TuboXS catback. I've heard alot of talk that instead of getting the promised power increases with these mods I'm actually getting nothing if not a loss of power due to the factory ecu and check engine light emitting from lack of cat. I've had this setup for awhile and absolutely love the deep, loud note it emits and don't really want to push more funds into the car to buy an aftermarket ecu or such. Any insight to this matter will be much appreciated!!...In the end I'm probably just going to have to bite the bullet and get it dyno'd to check...

fodder

the rear o2 sensor is merely there to tattle on you. It is not used for AFR.... that's what the forward bung is for.

The CEL wont cause you to lose any power, but you may have HP due to the increased pipe diameter of your exhaust. (insufficient scavenging) Having said that, I haven't heard of anyone experiencing this with the AP midpipe. Did you have to modify it to fit the TurboXS Catback? That could be where your loss lies...

But its really just a guess. It may have nothing to do with this. There are a million other factors. I suggest you go read some threads about power loss.

3" exhaust won't lower horsepower. It's a butt-dyno proven fact.
