Some guys here in nz are racing an RX8 in production car racing . They have a race on SAT but are having major hassles getting it sorted. This is second hand info and I have not personally seen what is happening but thought I would ask on their behalf.

Car has recently had the motor rebuilt
ECU was sent to Racing Beat and reflashed with the race flash
This is their first time running since

Problem :
Car seems to run great under acceleration but
Under heavy braking it goes into limp mode and throws a cel "ECU not communicating with ABS" or similar . I can't find a code for this myself but this is what they told me. They lose ABS and get lots of warning lights come on the dash .
Resetting the ECU clears the cel then they go out and it happens again .

Any ideas appreciated .

No. SpeedSource uses Renesis engines and a lot more stock stuff that would surprise you. That's because of the class they race in.

I misread your post the first time so I edited my response.

 

Problem solved . I took my scanalyser to them - found the code was for OMP faulty.
Mazda NZ kindly donated a new one & they were off like a brides nighty .
