Installed pulleys, now CEL is blinking

ok i did a search and came up with a few sollutions which ive tried.

yesterday i installed the unorthodox pulley set, no problems with exception of hving to walk to the autozone to grab a new belt...after instalation i reinstalled the intake and battery and checked to make sure everything was okay. now i start the car and the CEL is on and is solid....i do the steering wheel thing and shut of car for the DSC..turn car back on and the CEL is stil on.....un plug bat for 10 mins and pump brakes...turn back on and still on...

so i gotta go to work so i risk driving it anyway....the car drives fantastic, no awkward sounds or vibrations...actually runs very nice (cant say i notice any gains w/ the pulleys bt it does feel a little better after 4k rpms)...i take the car up to 7k rpms for 1,2,3 shifts and i notice the cel is now blinking...it blinks as long as i push it hard....at idle it solid again.

i tried this remedy:

Revised ECC reset Method: Disconnected battery for approx. 5 min. Reconnected bat. turned car to ACC. Pressed brake pedal approx. 20x. Turned steering wheel left and right lock to lock. Turned ignition to off and restarted.

Viola. This time no blinking CEL after a night of some fun driving.

Credit goes to MM for pointing me in the right direction. Hope this helps anyone else whoever finds themselves in a similar situation.

now at idle the CEL is gone, but if i push it hard the CEL is blinking then momentarily goes away and returns...the conclusion ive come to is misfire, or eccentric shaft position sensor from what ive seen on here. i doubt its a misfire, thats too cooincidential. so what can i do to fix this problem...please let me know asap.

The red part of your post where you made the cel go away is that how it is right now or is the bottom part of your post your current situation?

Did it come back on or is it off?

By the way mine is doing exactly what yours was. I just kinda ignore it, but it is annoying.

update, yes after the red was what was going on after i tried that but today the cel is on solid at idle again and blinks while driving. im going to leave the battery off again for a few hours and ill try the sollution again to see how it goes. the car feels great, im not sure if the pulley added benefits but one thing i see is the car vibrates alot less when the ac is on while idle'ing. that was enough benefit for me lol (coulda been a result from the new belts tho)

please any other sollutions im open to...

I was told by a woman at mazsport that they all do what our cars are doing and theres nothing we can do about it. It will be slightly better if we tune our cars with the interceptor x engine management but then again that could just be a way to sell it to me. Although I do believe it is a good emu.

good news, i tried the solution one more time, this time leaving the battery disconnected for about 3 hours, after reconnecting it and pumping the brakes, the cel is gone...i took it for a calm drive around the city and it was still gone, so i take the chance and do a fast take off redlining 1st 2nd and 3rd a few times and it still hasnt returned so looks like it might have worked the 3rd time around. ill see if its still okay in the morning.

Bring it to Autozone and have them read your code with a CANSCAN codereader to see why you have a CEL.

If it's on steady it's usually an emissions related issue. If it blinks it's more serious and you could be damaging your engine. I suspect it may have something to do with your electrical system not charging properly due to the underdrive pulley. Definitely pull the code and find out whats wrong.

really,

i doubt mantis would say something like that.... she knows how to reset her eshaft sensor...

if you did the key on / off 20 brake tap thing it will reset the eshaft.. make sure you see the oil pressure gauge sweep or you did not do it right..

having the same problem as you but even worse. My car does the same thing installed the pulley a few days ago had this cel problem tried all the remidies didnt work then yesterday the engine strting making a constant ticking noise when warmed up ran the code it was p302 misfire. Changed the plugs coils and wires no more than 100 miles ago and now im going to put the stock pulley bak on to see if thats the problem.

shock horror - you can't be serious !
AP pulley is good for at least 1/2 car length in 3rd gear - tested & proven

k swoope but the e shaft sensor would be that thing with all the teeth right? is there a certain position it should be in ( if it can be repositioned) . Also how would i know if i damaged the sensor, if i did screw up the sensor sumhow would that explain the misfire code and death noise ?

it is unlikely you damaged it... changing the pulley will not change the position.

give me a min or two and i will find the eshaft clear diy...

this will reset what you need... the other thing is the bat disconnect / key to on brake stomp...

do both again... look for the oil gauge sweep..
