Idle Issues
ok so here is what i did and what is going on
i have a 2004 rx8 with 102000 miles the engine got replaced at least 20000 miles ago (thats what the previous owner said)
i bought it with the p2004 CEL Runner control stuck open or something like that
anyway i removed the entire intake maniflod, i got to the metal piece where the little apv motor goes, i removed it and replaced it.
while putting everything back together I had a hard time putting back the injectors but they dont shoot gas so i believe they are fine.
to make a large story short it starts, idles fine for the first 2 minute while it warms up
then it losses RPM's and drops to 500 or less
then by itself goes back up to 1500 and drops again
i give it gas and does good but when i let go of the pedal it drops the RPMS all the way and dies
by the way i changed the MAF sensor and the ssv solenoid

when did you do the work to your car?
Changing the MAF has a large impact on your car. Unplug battery for 20 min, pump brake pedal, connect battery, drive for a week- things should be back to normal. Your car is probably just relearning the fuel trims.
It could be other issues, but this is very common after MAF sensor work
