1What light was on and what did you replace?

2. the U codes are usually communication errors caused by incompatible scanners

later im going to take this out of this thread and put it in your own trouble shooting thread. it will just get lost here

RX8 Won't Start

Just bought on '05 Automatic with 43000 miles on internet auction. Vehicle was delivered yesterday...Battery dead. Tried jumping, will turn over but not start. I know little about rotaries, but am mechanically inclined. Is there something obvious I am missing? How do I check for fuel delivery and fire? No codes are stored. Where to start?

There are several ways to troubleshoot the RX-8 you can use the search function of this forum. The search button is located on the header in between quick links and new posts.

i have a hill outside my door--roll it out down the hill- get it up to speed and put it in third with pedal to the floor--fires right up-blows out white smoke and runs like a charm--flooding over

instead of being smartasses try and be helpful , dont just tell people to search tell them what to search for.. I've searched flooding , and got million threads , I searched car wont start , and get this useless pile of words .

if someone is in a jam and their car wont start you think they want to read this useless thread that gives absolutely no help to anyone?

yeah search is a good idea but when someone doesn't know what keywords trigger the answer they are after its just frustrating . look at it from the person who is going through the trouble's point of view not your lazy I dont want to read more car wont start thread point of view.

Thanks for the feedback... when I created this thread there was about 10 different threads created by people to lazy to search through the many different threads out there.

Also I'm sure this wasn't the only thread that came up when you searched, this might have been the first one but it certainly wasn't the only one.

The fact of the matter is the renesis engine and most rotary engines are far more complex than most people imagine. so there is no simple answer on how to start your car, when it wont start.

My advice would be to search more, lighten up, and start reading.

Most of us who have been on here for a while have the factory service manual and have been using that to troubleshoot issues. I guarantee you there is a thread that has been started over the past 7 years describing whatever issue you are having with your car.

I get this, I find it funny. But sticking this when there should be a stick that actually has answers in it would be more useful for everyone. (including people tired of hearing about it)

I came to this forum section first to see if there was a sticky on this problem or at least a thread with recent updates first because "car won't start" isn't a great search. I saw this and got pumped. only to have a chuckle then get pissy about it and post a whinny response...

ON TO SEARCHING!!!!!

there were literally 15 threads regarding this issue when I created this. Shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes to find the solution.
