I just need to know how you clear a misfire code.

Also, I need to know, once I clear it, will it clear my ECU flash updates from Mazda?

No..it will not screw up your reflash

 

Awesome, I always thought the misfire codes were stored in your ecu for good and you had to like either take it to mazda to clear it or take your ecu fuse out and turn it to "on" for awhile then pop your fuse back in.

Well I did the 20 brake stomp method, the odometer "test" method, and also disconnecting my battery for awhile, I re-cranked it and I reset my fuel trims, on the first start up the CEL was gone, on the 2ed start up it was back on.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with my car, but I had misfires over a year ago and the CEL has been on sense then.

Are there any other ways of clearing the CEL? For example, pulling my ECU fuse out and turning it to "ON" and let it sit for a few minutes?

 

you have an active problem...or a screwed ecu

check the ESS and see if It has crap on it
