Sure an engine might be tired and worn out .... Does that mean it must be rebuilt ? If you are into competitive motorsports , you have a problem and it must be fixed.
When it's just your daily driver, you don't have a problem so it doesn't.
I get it, I drove mine for about 2 years with a failing engine.

If someone new buys an 8 with hot start issues and reads these upgraded starter posts in a hot start thread, they might think the starter is the problem and buy a $600 starter that might not fix the problem.
Just clarifying that hot start issues are usually a sign of an engine failing.

Maybe the $600 would come in handy if they do need a rebuild.
