high pitch noise at freeway speeds

i took my car in for a service @ 49000 miles, with complaints of loss of power (intermittent, but noticeable at times) and an oil leak from teh bell housing. they singled out the oil leak as a reverse swich on my transmission that was apparently known to leak. when i picked up my car they said they didnt find anything in relation to a loss of power. when i left the dealership i hit the nearest freeway and at about 55 mph i began to hear a loud shrieking/harmonic tone- it got so loud i couldnt hear the person sitting next to me when she talked. the sound increased in volume and tone as i gave it more gas, and when i put in teh clutch and revved the sound would immediately quit. i turned around and brought it straight back to the dealer, but they seem to have no idea what it is. any thoughts/ similar experiences?

Did they forget to refill the transmission?
