MI Heater problem

Hi guys,

I got a 04 rx8 and it's been having a heater problem for about three months...

I did a search on the forum and found out that I got a similar issues with major

heater problem users in here at rx8club.

So my heater works and not works, which means that sometimes it works when I

turn the temperature **** all the way to the max heat, but sometimes it does not

even work that way.

After doing the "press scan ^ + radio power button" test, when the heater was

not working, the temperature meter stayed at "0" even when I turned the **** all

the way to the right, or stayed on at "16" for one second and returned to "0"

again.

So I brought it to my local auto shop and they told me they cannot fix this,

because they can't guarantee their work... they told me that the problem might

caused by several reasons, and they can't follow the online DIY to figure out the

problem...

They told me the only way they can take care of this problem is to change the

whole heater unit...which I think it will hurt my wallet a lot...

So my question is where can I buy the heater unit online? Used or new...

I am afraid to do it by myself because I am not good at it and probably end up

with destroying the whole unit...

Thanks so much.

This sounds like something I'm experiencing. Its as simple as taking the **** unit out and soldering a little. Search around the forum there is a great diy on how to do that. Your heating unit is just fine its the turn thingy that needs a bit attention. Good Luck!
