Is heat an issue?

Hi,
I'm a new and happy owner of a late 2003 RX8. I do an issue with the amount of heat radiating thru the center column ie section between the gear shift and cup holder compartment. I've have taken the car back to the dealer and they assured me it is all OK. I'm looking for confirmation that this is the case. Pls advise. Cheers

They all do this, so I would believe that your car is OK like the rest of ours. Just think of it as factory installed drink warmers.

^ the recall does address issues of MAJOR parts of the car failing due to heat (emissions system (o2 sensor, CAT) Fuel tank, differnt wiring harnesses, shifter, ect) but it is not a 'fix' for a hot interior/center consol.

Just dont want someone to read this and think that the heat will go away, its part of the car. You can try and add some of your own insulation.

Hi there. My 'old' Jan 04 full power UK 8 suffered BIG TIME from the err... cup heater syndrome. In fact put coins in there and see just how hot they get!

Even after the 'insulation' was fitted at the fuel tank nothing improved - so the fuel tank issue is seperate to this for sure.

HOWEVER..... my new (sep 05) full power 8 does not get any where near as hot, in fact it stays almost totally cool

Can any 'new' model rx8 owners in the US confirm this is so also?

jaguar linked to a different recall...not the recall from july/aug of this year.

the recall linked only applies to early production models. i have a 10/03 build rx8 and my vin is outside the vin range.
