Fuel Pump Issue?

So I've done a lot of searching and just want to make sure I've covered all my bases.

Issue:
Engine won't rev past 7k, huge puff of white smoke (oil) is produced and power loss occurs momentarily. Causing CEL codes: Cylinder 2 misfire(P0302) and Rich Air/fuel ratio bank 1(P0172)

Variables:
80k miles currently
Spark Plugs last replaced at 50k
Cat replaced at 40k
Fuel Tank was at less than half

Hypothesis:
Fuel pump is going bad and can't provide enough fuel for the upper ranges of the rev band.

Action Plan:
Replace OEM fuel pump with Walbro from BHR
Replace spark plugs with NGK plugs also from BHR

So does this cover all the bases to start addressing the issue? I know coils are possibly the cause but I'm not ready to sink $500 into the BHR set.

Thanks for reading!!

The huge puff of smoke is prolly not a misfire - does it happen at the same time as the power cut, or at start up?

Same time as the power cut, start up is fine. I figured it was all the oil burning because the fuel isn't being delivered to match it.

It's likely not a problem with the fuel pump. White smoke is coolant being burned. Darker colored smoke is oil.

Lovely So a coolant seal somewhere? Would this cause the power loss as well?

Are you losing coolant?

Like Al said, white clouds of smoke, especially while moving is prolly coolant, check the level closely.

I have not noticed any lost coolant but I will keep a better eye on it now. Sounds like the beginning of a cracked engine?
