IL Frustrated as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently purchased an 05 rx8 from a dealership back in November last year. I have about 3,000 miles on it since I bought it/ Always checked the oil at fillups and added when neccesary, car was running great. Parked in garage where it sat for a few days and now it does not want to fire up just cranks/ I have fuel cause it is fouling the plugs, also has spark. Never had any indication of a problem before parking it and there are no codes. I feel like I am over looking something. I think I may even have information overload from scanning this site for answers. Any Help or ideas would be great. Thanks

Never any need to remove the fuel pump fuse.

Accelerator-to-the-floor during cranking tells the computer to cut fuel completely, to clear a flood.

Try resetting the memory (tech section) and if it still won't start after about 40 seconds of cranking, a push/pull start never fails.

05 you say, if you cannot verify the plugs and coils have been replaced, that is a big one. I would do coils before plugs. Vendor here sell them. Some have found them at local auto parts stores. After that, I suggest looking at the $100 thread in my sig.

Welcome.

Ok, I performed the ECU reset and got the results listed, however she still does not want to start. I am getting no codes but the engine light will flash 7 times and then stay on solid on the eighth flash. I am not sure if the coils have been replaced, but it does have Magnecor race wires (installed by last owner--Along with alot of other mods). The dealer I prchased it from does not know what was done to the car-they thought it was factory because it says Mazdaspeed on all the parts through out the car. On another note--the starteris making a whineing sound after it disengages. (Normal?) I will be purchasing the BHR coil kit with plugs tomorrow as the originals are once again soaked. Probably purchasing a starter too.

As I antisipate my BHR Coil kit. I decided to replace the starter, Purchased it from Autozone for $97 dollars with Lifetime warranty. I used StealthTL's method of starting a flooded car and after several 10 second cranks she coughed to life, smoked heavily for a minute and then started to purr like a kitten. It seems to be running good for now. Once the weather breaks I'll post some pics. Thank you to everyone for their input/advise

We should have a "Stump the Chumps" thread on here in the spirit of the NPR show CarTalk!
