I installed an aftermarket cat about a month ago and reused the crush gasket, I ordered a replacement gasket and plan on installing it this weekend. I saw on Mazmart that there is a seal/silencer on the back end of the cat so I ordered one too not seeing one when I replaced the cat. The seal is not obvious to me how it would be installed or even work. The seal is item number 8 on this picture:

I cannot find any info on the forum or internet about this seal. Is it just as simple as placing it in between the car and the straight pipe? What orientation to I put it in? Do I use a gasket sealer?

The new cat is an bolt on replacement Magnaflow 49150

It's a metal ring, u just stick it in and sandwich it between the 2 parts with bolts.

gasket sealer gonna melt, so don't bother.

not sure if Mangnaflow gonna have issue though. U have to check and see.
