Unhappy Engine warning light

Hi All,

Yet another problem with my 8... I have the warning engine light on since a few days, sent it to the dealer, they said i have an ignition coil running old. What do you guys think about that?

Now since i will be getting under the hood for a couple of hours (the dealer is charging me nearly 1000 USD for 4 ignition coils!!! I'll buy them from ebay and do it myself) BTW I'm from Mauritius, a small island in the Indian Ocean, will it be a good idea to swap my stock air filter for a K&N CAI? I previously owned a civic EK3 and definitely liked the K&N on it.

Thanks for all your advices!
Cheers.

If you're sure it's the coils, go for the BHR upgrade. Do your spark plugs and wires while you're at it.

K&N's so called "CAI" is more like a hot air intake that generates loud noises, in other words, you will be losing power. The proven beneficial after market intakes is AEM/Mazdaspeed and Racing Beat's. The stock airbox will do just fine with a K&N drop in panel filter.
