What do your plugs look like?
Did you replace your plugs?
Any CEL?
Does your car search for an idle or does it just die?
Any mods?
Any power loss while it is running?

Using a standard compression tester will yield no usable data. Take it to a dealer or rotary shop and have it tested. It sounds like bad compression.

Waiting for the plugs. Not available at mazda dealer.
No CEL,no codes either.
It just die.It can run for a week without stalling and all of sudden it starts again.
In order to keep engine running i have to keep my foot on the gas pedal and hold to 1000 rpm to keep the engine running.
No mods,full stock
No power loss only if i don,t keep rpm at 1000 it will die.

thanks

The standard compression tester will at least give an indication. The dealer here has one rx8 whit starting problems for almost one year and almost $3000 spend on it.And still the car is sitting there.Sending my car there will be the second standing there for a year or more.
thanks

Could be a vacuum leak, MAF sensor failing/dirty/bad, or throttle body valve sticking/failing, assuming it isn't anything you listed as checked.

A piston compression tester does not indicate anything actually. In order for a compression test to mean anything you need compression numbers from all 3 faces of the rotor.

Why are you asking for help if you have all the answers?

Compression test takes 30 mins and costs $80

Inspect them even though you can't replace them...you might be able to diagnose the problem down to the plugs with a wire brush.
