Electrical Issue
Here is my issue, I was driving home one day about 1.5 years ago, and I lost all of my gauges and such, lights still worked and all.. I pulled over and it would not start, I disconnected the battery, waited a minute then it started no problem. Fast forward..
Having the same issue now except I could not get it started reliably with out loosing my gauges shortly after, so I took it to the dealer via tow since I was pressed for time and did not want to sit trying to start it for 20 minutes.
The dealer told me 1st that its an issue with my key and they need to replace it so they did for 119.99 they are now saying its an ABS MODULE failure and it needs to be replaced for 2300.00..
Could it be any other issue than that before I shell out 2300.00? Maybe a short in a sensor someplace? Or wiring that I can check or have them check?

UPDATE:
The issue was in fact, a failed key.. My imobilizer system was shutting down the motor and not allowing it to start up again.
The dealership said that my ABS module was not responsive, and wanted me to pay 2k even though the ABS module resets after being driven then shut off properly, needless to say car is fine, and there are no issues with my ABS module, saved me some serious $$. Though a bit frustrating to have a mechanic try to charge me for nothing!
