Has this happen to anyone? I brung my car in for a CEL and the dealer told me the reason why its on is because i dont have any TPMS on my wheels. I told them i havent had them on my wheels for about 4 months and my CEL just came on 2 days ago. They kept talkin about how those TPMS cause the CEL to come on and it doesnt make sense. What should i tell them? What can i do in this situation? Thanxs

I also ran without the TPMS all winter (Tire Pressure Monitoring System for the person that didn’t read the manual) NO CEL’s at all, ask the dealer what code the CEL gave and what that has to do with the TPMS.

EDIT: MikefromBarrie, your from Canada correct? TPMS is standard on all RX-8 in the USA. I don't think they are in Canada. If you had your location in your profile I would have been nicer Sorry.

Why do service depts do this? Don't they get paid by Mazda to do warranty work? Its pretty damn obvious the TPMS had nothing to do with the CEL.

 

At least they didn't blame it on you letting the blinker fluid get low.

 

i called north american mazda and they were very helpful. They immediately called the dealer that service my car and speak with the service manager. They told me they will diagnost the car again and look further into it. North American Mazda will be sending them a letter to make this service more priority. It pretty sad how I have to go through them just to get my car fix, and it only a damn CEL.

 

yup youre right, I dont have TPMS or even traction control!!
