I left one of the dome lights on overnight, or more like almost 24 hours, and went to jump it this afternoon. Of course negative to negative indicated on the batteries, and once i hooked up the positives, the rx-8 alarm went off like i hit the panic button. Tried the key, it wouldnt turn off. Turned engine to run, and nothing. Try to start it and it stops, but of course there wasnt enough charge to turn over. Once back to anything but start horn keeps sounding.

Kind of at a loss, not sure what to try next, luckily i dont necessarily have to be driving again until a week from monday. Any and all help greatly appreciated.

 

Disconnect your battery for a 1min or 2 and reconnect it. Then try to jump start it.

 

Just be very careful. If you don't have enough charge to turn the engine over proper, you could flood the engine, then you're in trouble.

 

Invasion, tried unplugging the battery for a couple minutes, probably close to 4 mins, and tried it twice and same result. I now have it unplugged, and am going to give it an hour or two, and try one last time before my fiance' leaves for work for the day.

 

you should invest in a battery tender.
