Cooling issues

HELP!! Ok so Really?!'s shinka is having issues. Her temp gauge goes up and down just slightly over the halfway mark and then back down. It does this in traffic and going down the highway. Popped the hood and there is coolant spewing from the overflow's overflow. She replaced the cap and still does this. I am thinking maybe a sticky T-stat. i dont see any visiable signs of a leak anywhere. Hard to tell with all the coolant everywhere tho. No puddles on the ground and nothing leaking sitting at idle. I have been smelling coolant for awhile but with no indications of a problem and no signs of a leak anywhere makes it difficult. Oh there is no water in the oil either. suggestions? Oh it's an 05 so its to pretty to have problems. lol

Ok we need more information than that on the car. Its an 05 shinka I am guessing? But what else can you tell us? Any mods? Last engine replacement? Whats the condition of the coolant hoses? Is her thermostat working properly? Is the water pump working properly? Any accidents? Any CELs? Any past engine problems? Have you checked for coolant in the exhaust?

Look into blackstone labs, and getting a 25 dollar oil test done to see if theres antifreeze in the oil.

Also clean the area up entirely, and check for anti freeze again. How far have the levels dropped on the average drive?

Have you removed the thermostat to make sure its not locked shut?

Whens the last time she drained and filled? Or even checked the condition of the radiator?

Yes its an 05 Shinka, only mods is screens on the front openings to protect the vitals down there, they have been on since Spring, T-stat to my knowledge is the stock unit haven't had it out. Everything appears to be stock and running, no accidents, CEL??? Engine probs....not that we know of cept the AC is currently not working. Coolant in the Exhaust no havnt checked

Have you removed the thermostat to make sure its not locked shut? no that is on 2m agenda.

Whens the last time she drained and filled? Or even checked the condition of the radiator? drained and filled we have had the car for almost a year. she has not done this, Radiator appears to be good had the condenser out this summer it looked fine.

Do you hear your fans turning on?

YES they are on

So basically right now we are waiting to see if your thermostat is frozen? This will also give you a chance to locate the leak. You are certain its comming from the pressure release valve?
