Connecting new battery makes horn honk!
RX8 has set for 4 months, and battery is dead or course. I put a new one in and horn and flashers go off as soon as connected.
So, that has to be the alarm, but what did I do wrong trying to put new battery in.
I used valet key to open hood, then, new battery and horn goes off.
I got friend to connect while I started car with valet key, and car still honking and flashers going.
Suggestions on de-alarming or whatever.

If the battery died while the car was sitting with the alarm armed it will do this. It thinks it's being stolen. Just use the remote or the interior lock/unlock switch to unlock the car and turn off the alarm.
Thanks man...it's gotta be some thing easy like this. I pushed the unlock button on smart key, and it didn't work.
I even got car started with the valet key.
I'll go back and try again, unlocking the inside of door.
Same thing happened on a Toyota, and I stopped it by clicking door open.
I knew to take neg off before I left in May, but the battery was time to go, and storms were flooding, and I could barely get outta town.

Ok, follow up on fix. I pulled horn fuse, and ran car on valet key. Blinkers stopped after a minute or two.
Went and washed car, and got the smart key to work with a battery I store in car.
So, the smart key needed battery also as to why I couldn't unlock door to shut off alarm.
All good now. I did Google a lot before I ran back here.
