Car alarm problems
Car alarm problems
Ever since I have had my car, I have had to be pretty close to my car for the alarm clicker to work.. (about 10 feet or so).. well, this morning, it wouldnt work at all from any distance... it took me about 20clicks to get my car to unlock.. so when i got to work, i locked my car with it, and it worked better, but when the horn honked, it was very faint.. so I assume the power source is dying and I have a feeling when I get to my car after work its not going to open at all
Does the alarm run off the car battery? My car had no problems starting up this morning so it seems like my battery has a good charge. If the clicker wont work, is there any way I can disarm the alarm so I can actually start my car up? I know i can just unlock my car with my key, but i dont think I can start it up..
thanks!
oh and this morning I unarmed hte alarm when i left and just locked the car by hand.. does the car alarm arm itself?

I'd check the battery in the key fob. Sounds like it's running low on power.
The alarm runs off the car's battery, but your key fob has its own battery.
And yes, the alarm will arm if the car is locked by either key fob, key in lock or lock switch in door.
