Condensation / Moisture In Lights

It is now official! I now have moisture in the center brake lamp to go with the moisture in my headlights and taillights! What a treat! I continue painstaking talks with my dealership to rectify the problem(s). Very disappointing service thus far (lots of talk, little action).

* I also continue to get about 14 mpg (mainly city driving--averaging 270 Km per tank). A buddy of mine averages 350 KM per tank; my dealership just shrugs their shoulders, it's like have to beg them to seem interested??? Clearly, I have to find another dealership, but the time factor makes it quite an inconvenience and only increases frustration.

I absolutely LOVE the car, but the mileage issue and service will likely prevent me from keeping it long term or from buying another Mazda (they should be VERY concerned about the fact that different cars with the same engine are getting such dramatically different mileage, but they obviously are not. Carguide magazine is estimating city mileage for the 2005s at 21mpg (a far cry from 14!). For god's sake, a Viper gets 14mpg in the city!!!

Water in tail light

I know there is a TSB on minor cracking from shipping adhesives or something of that nature, but has anyone had this?? There are no obvious cracks or otherwise that I can see, but it is obvious to even the biggest idiot that there is more than a condensation issue here.

To the dealership this week...

you take it to the dealer next time you want the oil changed, they look for any obvious marks that you backed into something, then give you a new light... is this really that big of a deal?

Would you want that much water slinging around in your tail light? What happens when it gets up higher and gets into the wiring? I don't think that you would really want to put up with this much water in a car just over 1 year old.

I had the same thing. Covered under warranty. The only annoying bit about the whole process is that they didn't put my stealth bulbs back in when they changed the taillight assembly. They just left them in the cup holder, and I had to do it myself. Not that big of a deal, but, like I said, a little bit annoying.

Similar issue

I have a similar issue, condensation in the tail light. My mazda service gave me a hard time... initially until i showed up and they saw the prob. I would take it back immiedatly for service.

I have a dead mosquito in mine. I think the only way to get it out would be to put water in the hole he got in and get them to give me a new light......bummer

I know it's no big deal to get it replaced, but the issue has more to do with the fact that I took it in once for condensation and they laughed me out of the service bay. The drivers side does not get this bad, but there is mildew/mold at the top of the housing inside. Either way they replace both...
