Clutch Sqeaking

Recently, after not having driven the car for about a week, the clutch pedal started sqeaking. After a couple drives it seems to go away, but then if i leave it for another week it will start sqeaking again. is this caused by lack of lubrication? if so, what, how and with what do i need to lubricate. also when sqeaking, i can kind of feel the resistance/vibration when i am depressing the clutch. Is there a bigger issue here i need to get checked out? finally for the clutch pedal warranty, do they put a newly designed clutch braket? or the same old design?

I know that is a lot of questions, thanks for all the help guys!

There are several reasons for a squeaking clutch pedal.
1) the limit switches can squeak... there is a TSB http://www.finishlineperformance.com...11-06-1724.pdf
2) The clutch pedal bracket can crack and cause a squeak. A broken bracket will be replaced but the dealer will charge you $99 to check it. https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...h+pedal+issues
Get in there and check it yourself. Add reinforcement to eliminate this worry.
3) the cylinder that runs through the firewall can squeak and may just need some grease

Ok so earlier the sqeak would go away after driving a few times, but now the sqeak seems to stay. I have checked to see if there is any side to side movement, and I'm pretty sure there is nothing wrong with the bracket yet (hopefully) as I am new to manuals. So if I were to go about lubricating the cylinder and spring, how would I do it? What should I use? Thanks!

spray the spring on the pedal with lube, mine was just a squeaky spring, 1 minute fix, super easy.

Also check the condition of the plastic bushings between the recoil/return spring and the bracket, itself. The bushings sometimes wear out and allow the spring to start wearing through the bracket.

hey guys sorry to bring up an old thread, but I have examined the bracket and spring, and both seem to be fine. I have noticed that contrary to what I thought earlier, the bracket doesn't squeak after a long period of sitting, but it starts to squeak when it is wet out (rain, car wash etc.). I have lubricated it, and the dealer actually looked at it for me and lubricated it too, and said it was fine. So why does it start to squeak when there is water? and go away after it dries?
