it probably is the master cylinder. That was what happened to mine and is not an uncommon thing when the bracket brakes in the clutch assembly.

Another possibility is a bad slave cylinder.
does someone have a link on how to bleed the slave in the 8. Have had 3 and never had this problem, and I know how to search the forum, but I thought it may be easier to leave it to some of you guys who are more knowledgeable, that have maybe better links, that give better video detail for a first time slave bleeder on an RX8

just search “clutch bleed” using the search button at the top of the DIY area and read, read, read
