It seems that if I release my clutch a certain way, my clutch will click at the end of its travel. Does anyone else get this sound, and if so any way of fixing it myself? It seems that my car clicks a lot; I'm starting to suspect it's secretly surfing the net (possibly on rx8club.com) when driving.

I get the same clicking noise time to time. Nothing seems to be loose and i have no idea which part of my clutch makes that noise.
This car is lot better than 3g eclipse I had but seems to be making have more rattles and weird noises.

well mine started after I let my girlfriend drive my car, and she stalled out it started to kind of click gu dunk... everytime i let go, i brought it to the dealer and they actually said they oiled everythign down, tightened everything, I got the car back and haven't had a problem since...... try that

Here it goes....

Buy a can of silicone spray.
Get underneath the steering column and look straight up.
You will see a spring and a bunch of other knick-knacks for the clutch pedal. Spray them with a nice coat of the silicone spray.
Get up and out of the car.
Sit down in the drivers seat and pushed the clutch pedal in and out to work the silicone into everything. Problem is fixed! Repeat if necessary.

Mine clicks when I depress the clutch. It only occurs sparingly. I have no ideas why.

Yes, please show us how to do this. Just by reading, I'm not sure if you're talking doing this inside the cabin or underneath the car (outside).

And, some recommendations about the spray would help, too.

Ok guys. Here are some pics I snapped . Sorry if quality isn't all that great but it was the awkward position I was in. This is inside the car under the steering column looking at the clutch pedal spring and hardware. Like I said, after lubrication has been sprayed, work in the spray by pressing and depressing the clutch pedal. Anyway, here are the pics with some detail to them. Any more info just ask and I will be more then happy to help. Oh yeah, the Silicone Spray I used was brought from Pepboys I believe for a couple bucks. Any auto store should carry that or something similar for about the same price.

Thanks for taking the effort to show us how. So, if I am understanding this correctly, it is due to lubricants drying up?

I'm not 100% sure but I would conclude to that. Between the lube drying up, dirt and whatnot getting up there it is bound to start clicking. But follow my instructions and you will be click free. Good luck

04silver8, thanks a lot for this... maybe you guys can help me out...
i don't have a clicking noise, but i do have a noise & i also feel the pedal get slightly stuck over & over & over as it travels back upwards.... so slightly that it just feels like if the pedal is vibrating on the way up. is this similarly related to what you guys experienced? if not... please shed some light on what the problem might be...

I don't remember mine getting stuck but I guess it could be possible. Your spring is probably really dried out and just needs a good lube. Try what I have listed above and see if that fixes the problem. Please keep me updated as to what happens. Sorry I don't have more info for you..

Does it feel stuck when it's warm? If so, there's a TSB out for it.

I had exactly the same sound...at the top of the clutch stroke. I took it to TWO dealerships. The first one just greased it, which made the click go away for about an hour...lol. The second one said, "It's normal operation. They all do that."

Right...

So finally, I fixed it myself !!

All that was needed was some tightening of the "push rod". A simple adjustment.
