TX Cheap Rockauto Manifold Solenoids

So as the sayings go, "you get what you pay for", and "if it's too good to be true it probably is". However, I'm messing around with a P0661 and discovered that Rockauto has what looks to be the SSV etc solenoids for $12. OEM is like ten times this, and there are a spattering of other sites with what appear to be the $15-$30 options.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...+solenoid,4964

Has anyone bought one of these "cheap" replacements and had good luck with them?

I bought cheap solenoids off Amazon and two out of three have worked fine. One didn't hold vacuum.

Definitely would be interested in seeing how long they last with our engine bay heat.

I have a master and slave cylinder on the way from rockauto.com. And I'm looking at their upstream denso o2 sensor. Anyone try one of those. The Denso is oem for our 8s.

My opinion is to make sure they are good quality. It's a bit of work to reach them so it would be annoying if they break soon after replacement.

I didn't order the Denso AFR(AKA front wideband O2) sensor from Rock Auto, but the Denso unit works well on my car, being the OEM part.

I bought the RockAuto one for 8-10$, aiming to find a cheap alternative to the Purge Solenoid. It arrived and turned out to be the style used on the rear. It tested good and now sits in the tool box as a hot-spare.

I ended up purchasing a set from Amazon as the rockauto ones sold out before I got to it. Seems fine after just a couple thousand miles.

Tbh the only difference I noted between what came off and what went on was these didn’t have the Mitsubishi emblem on the port caps.
