CD Play Blues....

CD Play Blues....
Well I got my RX-8 a little over a week ago, and although I am already in love with the car, I am having quite an issue with the CD player. It is just a single disc, sadly, but that isn't the issue. It skips. No matter whether the CD is burnt, or bought, it skips. I've put a cleaner disc in, and it helped, but it still skips in nearly EVERY song. As you can imagine this is getting unbelievable annoying. If anyone can give me some sort of advice, I would love to fix this problem.....

Read errors, probably from a dirty laser lens. Keep running that cleaner disc until you get all the gunk off. If that fails then the lens is probably misaligned and there's nothing you can do but replace the player. These devices are so cheap (and cheaply made) that there's no one around that'll fix it so replacement is the only option.

Lol, I've never even heard of that place, its like 11 miles away.. I'll probably check it out now if I got time. And not every cd does it, just some songs towards the back of a cd are usually the ones susceptible to it, and every song is targeted by bumps and reflectors in the road

o dude mines almost every single bump big or small. when it first started is went the dealership took out my tranny to fix my syncros and it kept on doing it they tried to fix it I even went to Mazda USA to try to get help but they didn't do much. I was mad but it didn't get anywhere so I just left it at that havent gone back to walser mazda. Its funny cause i work at a luther dealership and I get 50% off on parts but at walser I still get a better price its sad I would say.

maybe the other place has cheaper parts lol. but its such a disappointment even for a single disk player.. that should have the most supreme quality. but its still a good car. if worse comes to worse, i can always just listen to the engine

6 disks/multiple disk players should be standard. Less risk of an acciedent. Believe me, even I gotta change cds while I drive. Pretty soon they'll have some laws out here in cali about changing cds along with the cell phone laws..

Hahahaha yeah, probably. I'm honestly surprised they didn't come standard. My base has the outward appearance of a 6 disc, and I was rather upset when I found out it was just a single.

i think thats just what it looks like lol. it would be cheaper to just do everything one thing.. i know it might cost them more to produce at the factory, but then everyone gets the same thing, and they dont have to do everything separately, and it'd be more efficient, but oh well, im not Mazda

Better yet, switch out to the single disc MP3 player. You can put as much music or more on a single disc as on all six in the multi-disc player. Plus it doesn't skip (at least mine doesn't).
