Car flooded, de-flooded it but again it doesn't start

Hi,

For the first time in 7 years, my 2004 manual flooded yesterday (my wife moved it several times when cold because there was a repair in our community garage). From the spark plug holes I could see a lot of gas on the inside:

I removed the gas pump fuses, disconnected the air pump, and cranked it for some cycles of 7 seconds crack/20 seconds off (big gas smell), removed the leading plugs, cleaned and dryed them, injected 5mls of oil in the plug holes, inserted the plugs again and then the car started on the first try (with a nice amount of smoke coming out of the exhausts).

I waited until the engine was warmed at idle (idle was stable) and then took out the car out for 10 minutes, reving it to redline several times (the car revved fine and all the power was there). I noticed the engine light was on and so was the ESP light, but I tought it would be because I still had the air pump disconnected.

Then I returned to my garage, shut off the engine and tried to start it again. Again it didn't started, not even tried.

Today I'll try to read the engine code with my canscan to see what it is about. What could be the cause for it to not start again? It is my understanding that after some driving all the gas in the engine should have burned, so I don't understand why it doesn't starts.

Some questions:

1. Could it be because I only cleaned the leading plugs and not the trailing?

2. Should I drive for longer instead of 10 minutes?

3. Should I restart the pcm with the "push the brake pedal 20 times" method?

Thanks and excuse my english.

Edit: this has happened a little after I installed the BHR ignition kit. Could it be that some coil is bad and thus there is no spark on some sparkplug? How could I test them?

Update:

Today I was about to clean the spark plugs but first I tried to crank it... it started without problems. Then I did 50 minutes of driving and returned to my parking space. Tried to start it... nooooooooooo. Then I cranked it for 7 seconds with the gas pedal floored and tried to start it again... started. Shutted it off, and tried... no start. Crank with gas floored 5 seconds and try... start.

So now I've to crank it with the gas floored to start it. Well, it is an improvement since I can avoid public transport for going to work tomorrow, but I find this very odd, I don't recall having read about this happening to nobody and the last few days I've read a lot about flooded RX-8s... I'm not very worried because I'm changuing this engine in two weeks (bought a 2007 totalled car), but I'm intrigued. Could it be because of bad gas? Could the fuel pump be broken and still inyecting gas for some time after powering off the car? Bad injectors???

I've got the same issue going on, except I changed my plugs. Not sure what the problem is yet. Any ideas?

If you are under 100,000 miles, Mazda will replace the engine for free.

Mod Note: The engine core replacement warranty is for North America Only. juanjux is in Spain so this wouldn't apply to him.

I suggest you contact BHR directly, if you think it is related to their ignition system.
