Cant pass 4000 rpm

Cant pass 4000 rpm

ok for some reason i cant pass 4000 rpm on my ride. on parked or on the go. can some one give me some advice? plz

its a 04 about 43k and MT its smooth until you get to 4000rpm then it just drops and on the drive feels like a beginer getting off of first gear.

Sounds like ECU is in safe mode from something. Read the CEL code...and it may tell you what's not working. Try and reset the ECU after that. If it works, it might just be a glitch. If it comes back right away.... There aren't that many things that will set it into safe mode right away MOP is one...and ECT sensor is another..IAT temp sensor might as well. Also the Eccentric shaft sensor....

man i had this same problem and the solution was i had a melted cat so i put a race beat race pipe in and now the problem is gone.

Even though it may be a CAT the ECU safe mode will do the same thing.

Try the reset. Go to the sticky section in the tech forum. It will tell you how to reset.
