Brake Caliper Slider Bolt Seized

So i replaced my rotors and pads about a month ago and when i did, i noticed that one of the slider bolts on my front left caliper was seized. It appears that the rubber boot is not damaged, but came unseated and allowed water in and so on seizing the bolt. my question is should i try to remove it and reapply grease and the boot or should i just buy an new caliper?

Thanks.

I had that same problem when I changed my brake pads last year. You could buy a Brake Caliper Rebuild Kit or head to AutoZone and buy a pack of the Brake Lube similar to this one.

mine did the same. It took awhile, but i was able to break it loose and twist it out. I picked up a new set of slide bolts at autozone for about $8. Just make sure you scrape inside the caliper well, and use some antisieze or the above brake lube to the slide bolts. The bolt kit came with new boots as well. The autozone in oakley had it them in stock, so you might be able to find one with them.

Coincidentally, it is the front left (floating) rod that was stuck on mine also. I didn't use a special tool, I removed the caliper and replace the 13mm bolt back in the rod. Place the flat head where you'd normally have the 14mm wrench and kind of hammer it out with a rubber mallet. I hope I made sense. Or (push it out with the flat head while you) twist it with the 14mm wrench as 'fuztupnz' suggested.

make sure you take all of your brakes apart and regrease them if you havn't already. Once you get this one fixed you will want to do this on all of them just in case. Its not uncommon to happen. Every 6 months or once a year you should be checking to make sure the brakes still float smoothly.

Thanks, i'll give this a shot and see what happens. the rest of them were well greased and seemed to move fine. it was just this one on the front left. like i said the rubber boot came unseated but i guess the damage was done when i found it.
