You might be able to reach it with the fuel pump removed
Never had my pump out before, so I don't know what the fuel tank cavity looks like.

Mazda has a special tool for the fuel pump. The fuel pump is going to be the only way to get into the fuel tank, remember to ground yourself or you might go kaboom.

You can also use the StealthTL method to remove the fuel pump.

Here's a guide to help you remove the pump to get to the bolt that's in your tank:

If you have driven the car its too late. Otherwise they have flexible metal tube with a magnet on the end of it.

You could have used that to go down and fetch it.

I wouldn't worry about the bolt.

It isn't going to hurt anything...it won't plug up the fuel intake or anything.

If you are replacing your fuel pump or have it out...have a look around for it...otherwise I wouldn't worry about it
