Belt issue?

Hey all,

Was just wondering if anyone has had this situation:

When I turn my car on in the morning I hear a sound (no doubt amplified by my hood vents) that sounds like a belt being worn or a bearing spinning oddly.. Never heard it before a couple months ago, and just thismorning it was louder than before..

Thanks!

2007 6MT no engine mods. 13k miles

Take it to the dealer.... With 13k on an '07.,

Could be the belt, or bearing in the idler pulley / tensioner, or your waterpump bearing, or A/C clutch, or alternator, or... or...

It could also be the Aux. air pump that you hear.

Sorry - it's a little hard to figure from where I sit.

Good luck.

Scary,

Is there a stealership locally you'd recommend? I live in Surrey. Freeway Mazda is about 5 minutes from my house, but they're awful.

Wolfes Langley isn't bad...talk to Mark the service manager...there are a couple of good mechanics there.

Don't worry, it probably isn't anything too complicated to resolve (or for a dealership to screw up, lol).

The BC RX-8 lads have pretty good things to say about Signature Mazda in Richmond. I've never been there though.

I, on the other hand, bought the car from Metrotown Mazda.... Not a happy camper. Morrey Mazda in North Van seems pretty good for oil changes and the like.

I'm sure others will chime in. Or, ask the question on the Canada board, or on the local site.

Good luck.

Yeah, It will be something to check out next week. I just wish that there was a DECENT dealership on this side of Surrey.. They're open at bad hours and I work the same shift as them!!

I'll probably take it to Wolfe, but I'll call them before I go in there.

Thanks guys!
