2005 mazda rx8 please HELP!!
i I'm new to the rotary engine so i have no clue what it is. i just bought my rx8 and i love it ! its a great first car =) but i have some issues id like a few ideas to see what it could be. when i turn the car on it takes a wile till it finally turns on. then when i put it in drive i wait a few seconds then it kicks in what could this be? also when i drive its an automatic from 1st to second gear it kicks back and the gas peddle is not very responsive it does not pick up like id expect it to. sometimes it shakes too any ideas anyone ??

Voids warranties
I disagree the rx8 is a terrible idea for a first car. The ownership demands of the rx8 are too high for somebody who is just starting out and doesn't care much about anything beyond hitting the road and going out with friends.

Read this entire thread. That will answer a a couple of your questions. Specifically the 4th post about young owners. Also try snooping around in the AT specific sub-forum for some answers about your transmission shifting symptom.
Unfortunately it is too late and you are already in over your head. Hopefully you can develop the patience to deal with this car and not develop a hatred for it. However I feel the story of "your fist car" will end badly.

Check the fluid level, it's probably low. A transmission flush is probably in order also.

I have had experience with the slow start, its your ignition coils. Before I replaced mine it would turn over several times before it would finally fire and once I replaced them it would fire on first try.
