Hi All,

I've tried searching through some other threads, but haven't found anything that looks quite right. If there is another thread that already covers this I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.


My problem is as follows:

I have an 06 RX-8 with about 30,000 KM (I think around 19k miles.) Three weeks ago I was driving it and it was running perfectly.

There was a major snow storm and cold snap, so I parked it for a couple of weeks until the weather cleared (northern Canada. It was around -30 for quite some time). When I went to start it the other day it turned over, very briefly started up (the tach showed the engine was running) and then stalled. All subsequent attempts to start the car have resulted in failure. The engine seems like its turning over, but there's never any ignition. All the electronics work, and i checked all the fuses in the engine bay, but nothing was blown. Just in case i hooked up portable booster kit to the battery, but encountered the same issue.


If anyone has any ideas as to why the car will not start I would really appreciate the advice.

sounds just like my problem i had about a week ago, flooded engine...

 

Try the deflooding procedures in the DIY section.
