Yellowish substance on oil dipstick

So I just purchased my first rotary about a week ago ('04 w/ 25K mi.) and as I'm checking the oil this morning I notice a yellowish color to my oil on the dipstick? Anyone know what this might be from??

Welcome to the forum and the world of the RX-8. There is a wealth of information on the forum and with a little searching you will almost certainly find the answer to any questions you may have.

Mazda has a "fix" for the problem you describe. In fact, there is a service bulletin that addresses the problem. However, this problem is entirely cosmetic. The gunk should go away if you fully warm up the engine and drive it for awhile to evaporate the condensation.

EDIT: Here's the link to the service bulletin:

It's not a problem as long as it's not on the bottom ,level indication side of the dipstick.
And welcome to the forum. Enjoy your new ride,I know you will.
