WOOT!!! my coils are GONE!!

yes, ladies and gentlemen, I went to Yoshiya's (neptune speed) today to get my tranny fluid changed

when he drove my car, he said the compression is bad, but that cant be the point cus I had it checked earlier on (9.6 and 9.2 @ 250 rpm)

so he said the coils might be bad since it sounds like it's mis-firing

oh well, hopefully it'll last another 50 miles or so

nope............it lasted...........5............... on the way home, I was accelerating on 2nd gear, from 4k --> 6k (turbo spoolage) and then mis-fire.........I got home, opened the hood

and lo and behold, the 2nd and 4th coils are........fried............fried, like KFC
the 1st one has a cracking sound when I try to move it, and the 3rd one i cant get to cus the stupid charge tube

nice, very.......nice........this is great really, here I am, broke, and coil-less with a car that can't drive without coils............

help T.T

I had some good takeoffs, but can't remember if I tossed them or not, I'll check and let you know, shipping only if they're still around

Just for ***** and giggles look and see what your dwell is set at in the INTx menu.....I would bet it's set way too high if you fried the coils that fast/bad....

If you don't set it correctly you will fry a new set of coils in about an hour

If you are running the MazSport coil dwell setting on stock coils, they will go bye bye.

You can afford a turbo kit, am looking to buy a brake kit, but you don't have money for coils? Guys, maintenance is more important than mods!

sorry, guess I threw them out thinking that because they were the early style that nobody would ever want them even though I never had any problems using them, no difference when I installed the revised later style coils

this is epic indeed

Dan told me that the optimum dwells on stock coils should be 2-2.5 right?

assuming he's correct

this is one of my problems

I think Scott gave me a basemap set for someone with his ignition solution
