If you check it, there is really no reason not to top it off. You're right there anyway. I usually check mine every other week. I try and stay at a tank of gas a week, so after two tanks of gas and regular driving I need close to a half of a quart. It's very stable. If I autocross, look out... the OMP is all OM NOM NOM and I need to throw in some extra. Keep in mind that my car is also tuned via AP by MM (which yours needs to be as well.), so my oil habits wont be the same as anyone else. So, just check yours often and I'm sure you'll come up with your own system.
