When did automatics get the 6 port?

When did automatics get the 6 port?
I have read in many different places that all rx8's including the automatic got the 6 port engine from 2006 on up. Now my question is, is that all 2006 model or are there a few months that did not get it and was it a later change in 2006?
reason being, I am looking at a 2006 Shinka. And I'm trying to figure out if it is a 4 or 6 port engine.
