We need a DIY upper intake manifold removal

I need to remove my fuel injectors and I would love a DIY.

I am considering doing my own DIY thread if nobody has done it before.

its easy man. just a few bolts and a couple vacum lines and wires connected to the back. Best thing to use is a swivel and small extension to get the couple in the back.

They are all easy to get at except the 2 on the aux ports on the rear runner..an extension about 8 in long and a swivel with an elastic wrapped on it..or a good Snap-on one will make it easy

Watch the solenoids for the intake valves...the wiring and hoses are a bit difficult to remove if you don't take care....

Other than that its an easy but tedious job..takes about 20 minutes after you have done it once or twice

How many hours would something like this take for a novice doing it for the first time?

You should be able to re-re it in 2 hours the first time.....depends what you want to do when it is off.

If you are changing/removing injectors..buy the doughnuts for the sec/P2 injectors..they are a couple of bucks each and worth it..the P1 injectors have different seals and they seem to reuse easily As per a couple of problems lately...watch your fuel line connectors
And watch the plastic block for the OMP injector air supply..the damn thing breaks easily if you don't line it up carefully when you re/re the P injectors

Thanks for the tips Dan.

I think this may be above my wrenching abilities. I will get a certified Mazda tech to do it instead.
