water on the passenger-side floor
water on the passenger-side floor
Very strange problem. After heavy rains and the car outside, there is a lot of water on the floor on the passenger front seat. Windows/roof vere obviously closed. And it's not the first occurence. There is no water traces on the interior/windows/roof/dashboard. That means water could not have gotten into the car through the window or roof.
The only way of water getting inside I can think of is through the engine compartment somehow - that's the only source that cannot be detected from interior.
Any ideas?

Possibly thru the cabin air filter. The filter is within/behind the glovebox and gets its air from the passenger side hood vent. I've not had a problem there but yours may not be exterior sealed properly.
The thread title says floor, but I now see seat cited. Has to be from overhead (sunroof?) if water is on the seat. Water can migrate quite a ways, but again would have to be overhead if seat.
So.... which is it, floor or seat???

Check your A/C drain...when it plugs up the water ends up on the passenger floor.
The A/C outputs a lot of water in cooler humid conditions......and it is on with the defrost.....

Any more clues how to find AC drain?
