I hear the walbro pumps are noisy no matter what car there on but Ive never personally owned one. I just changed my fuel pump with a Felco brand one, not the most common name or the best brand but I can tell a difference at idle with it and its pretty quiet. You can hear it at prime if you actually listen for it. Seems to hold pressure better then my stock pump which had 100k on it. I went with the stock pressure replacement one but they also make 255lph ones.

 

My S2 is on the way out as well after only 14000km. Bought from Mazmart.

Has anyone installed a 200 or 300 DW in an S2 assembly?
