So it's not the shifter. I doubt it is a clutch issue from what you have said. Sounds like gearbox to me.

Has anyone solved this problem? I am having a problem with my RX8 where the car pops out of first gear, only after driving a few feet. My engine light is on saying that it is running lean. Could these two coincide with one another?

Personally, I think it's my air intake, and heres why. I have an aftermarket intake. When more air is let into the engine, there would be more fuel, and therefore more combustion. The transmission could pop out because of more load.

What do you guys think?
