Trailing ignition delay - what's everyone running?

Our engine management only allowed a fixed delay originally, so the engine was mapped with 8 degree's of delay.
However, the software has just been updated for us before we go on a test day at the weekend, allowing a full 3D map for engine rpm and load mapping.

Anyone out there willing to share their settings for me to try out as a starting point?

I assume you are talking about ignition split..

Depending on RPM and load..anywhere from -ve split to +15

High load more split..less load..less split.....

Boosted, I go to 15 degree split above 4000 RPMS and 150% load.

In vacuum, try to run as low as you can...No more than 7 Degrees should be safe with good gas at 100% Load...a lot of NA guys run 0 or even negative split in vacuum.

Cheers guys, sounds like it basically wants to follow the main ignition graph in it's trends then, just inverted, so more split for around peak torque and less split on partial throttle, etc?

Gives me something to start with anyway.

We can give you all the OE map timing figures, but I seem to recall they're posted on here somewhere too

I've been searching but didn't find anything bar the Microtech settings for someone here:

I ended up with this as a quick base map, it wants biasing towards the throttle openings (more gradient at low rpms as partial throttle opening makes more of a difference) and I think it'll take a couple of degrees less split around peak torque, but it'll do until we get on the dyno later on this winter.

Made noticable difference around 3-4k, but not much elsewhere.
